Changes in Chamblee Chamber of Commerce Leadership

Chamblee, GA, December 22, 2014 – There are a couple of leadership changes taking place at the Chamblee Chamber of Commerce.

Arthur 'Art' Freeman

Founding CEO, Art Freeman and Founding President and Chairman of the Board, Van Pappas both announced Thursday during the December Chamber Breakfast, that they will be leaving the Chamber in their official capacity.

Freeman was instrumental in the organizations formation as he provided the procedural and executional expertise necessary to bring a Chamber of Commerce to a more than one-hundred-year-old city that never had one.

Chamblee did have the Chamblee Business Association (CBA), formerly the Chamblee Area Business and Professional Coalition, but in order to have a stronger position on behalf of Chamblee businesses in the areas of Governmental Affairs, Economic Development and Advocacy, the decision was made by the CBA to form a Chamber.

Chamblee holds groundbreaking ceremony for new mixed-use development, “The Olmsted.”

CHAMBLEE, GA, November 12, 2014 – by The Post –  The City of Chamblee together with the Chamblee Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Development Authority hosted a groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday at the future site of ‘The Olmsted.’

Cocke Finkelstein Inc. (CFI), in a joint venture with Macauley + Schmit (MS) and Origin Capital Partners, will develop a 283-unit, Class A live-work community adjacent to the Chamblee MARTA station that will become the “Southern Gateway” to the city’s historic downtown, complete with the name “Chamblee” on the rooftop.

Interim CEO Lee May speaks to Chamblee Business Community

CHAMBLEE, GA, July 18 – Interim DeKalb County CEO Lee May attended Thursdays Chamblee Chamber of Commerce Breakfast Meeting where he addressed the local business community. Mayors, Elected Officials, City Officials, County Officials and the business community gathered in the Chamblee Civic Center to enjoy breakfast prepared by Senior Connections. The event was sponsored by Peachtree-DeKalb Airport.
